Abseil for FREE!

If you have ever wanted to try abseiling here is your chance. The Merseyside Support Group are looking for adventurous volunteers from all over Merseyside to make a daring 50 metre abseil - and if you raise the minimum amount of sponsorship of £100 you can take part for free!

This exciting event takes place at the Mersey Tunnel Ventilation Shaft in Birkenhead and absolutely no experience is required as full training is given. The two dates we have for 2010 are Sunday 23rd May and Sunday 26th September. In 2009, both dates sold out very quickly, so early booking is recommended. Participants will abseil down the outside of the ventilation shaft, which provides spectacular views across the River Mersey.

Myasthenia Gravis is a very nasty muscle weakness disease that has no known cure and can prove fatal. The Merseyside Branch support sufferers, their carers and families throughout the region.

So if you would like to experience the exhilaration of abseiling whilst raising funds to support the Merseyside area for MGA, why not join us by calling for a free information pack on 01457 858459 - or email cathy.roberts@mga-charity.org

The picture on the left shows some of the team of 9 who completed the abseil on 23rd May.  They include 5 members of staff from ChoiceQuote Insurance in Liverpool - the wife of one is an MG sufferer.

It's still not too late to sign up for the 2nd date for this popular abseil on 26th September - just contact Cathy Roberts, on the contact details shown above.
